Challenge # 13 Tagging and Del.icio.us
Tagging was a concept that I was already familiar with from Flickr and LibraryThing, but it was a challenge to figure out what Del.icio.us was all about! Once I got through the podcast (twice), and the Otter Group tutorial, I jumped in. It was much easier than it seemed, and I was able to create and save all of my "Favorites" that I had bookmarked on my computer. Creating BUNDLES of similar sites was neat, and I can see that I will be using Del.icio.us for all of my favorites from now on.

Challenge # 12-- ROLLYO
This was easy to set up, and will be helpful to me as I pursue my interest in genealogy and family history. I was able to create a Search Roll of my own as well as browse through some others that were of interest to me. I really liked it! Adding Links for Rollyo and Library Thing wasn't difficult, but the links weren't visible on my blog. Working on this...

Challenge # 11--LIBRARY THING
I took a look at Library Thing yesterday, and created my own account--very easy. I did a search for some genealogy material and found a number of titles that I'm interested in.

Challenges # 8 & 9--RSS Feeds & Library related blogs
Wow! I never thought that I would get this far, but it's really pretty hard to stop learning all of these new things. I spent time today reading about RSS and Newsreaders, and browsed through some of the many popular ones available.
I set up my own Blogline newsreader account, and I've subscribed to some basic feeds, and a few blogs that interest me.
Once I set up the account, it was really fairly easy to locate some useful library-related blogs. One of them from the PLCMC describes upcoming Teen programs being held in their libraries. I also subscribed to the Shifted Librarian and the Librarians Internet Index. Lots of fun.

I've spent some time today learning about RSS and Newsreaders--things that I had never been aware of before. I have created my own Bloglines newsreader account, and subscribed to about 20 different feeds.
It seemed easy enough to find useful library related blogs once I got started. I found one tht describes some interesting upcoming Teen programs being held at PLCMC.I also subscribed to the Librarians Internet Index, and the Shifted Librarian.

Challenges #5, 6, and 7--FLICKR & FLICKER Mash-Ups
This is wonderful--and lots of fun! I can't wait to try uploading some digital photos and adding tags. I did a few searches, and made a wonderful fireworks display as my background for the week of the 4th of July! I'll be uploading photos in the next day or so.
The mashups were fun, too. My favorite one to play with was Flickr Chia Pet!
Challenge # 7 is included here, I guess, in that the blog has been posted.

New to blogging
This is my very first post, and it's a little scary. I really don't know where to go from here, but I'm willing to give it a try.
